A Green Transformation at P.R. Contractor Vidyalaya, Dumas
The air in Dumas was thick with enthusiasm and the promise of a greener future as the Grow Green Native Forum (GNGF) hosted a massive planting event at the P.R. Contractor Vidyalaya. As usual, it was a powerful display of community collaboration, bringing together 70 dedicated Green Saarthis alongside the school’s trustees, committed teachers, and eager students. The collective energy of this diverse group resulted in the planting of approximately 351 saplings, significantly contributing to the local ecosystem.
A core principle of the GNGF’s mission is to promote native biodiversity. True to this, the event saw the planting of over 25 different native species. This commitment ensures that the newly forested area will be resilient and naturally suited to the region’s climate.
The work began in a key area just outside the school building. This phase was critical for ensuring the long-term survival of the saplings. The Green Saarthis segregated the saplings to ensure efficient and strategic placement, leveled the terrain, and enriched the soil by thoroughly mixing it with rich organic manure, providing the necessary nutrients for robust growth.
The planting process itself was conducted with thoughtful planning to prevent overcrowding and maximize the variety in any single spot. Each sapling was carefully laid next to a pre-dug hole before planting. This deliberate ‘pre-placement’ ensured a balanced and diverse distribution, resulting in a vibrant, mixed patch rather than a monoculture.
The school community—from the students to the trustees—actively joined in the work, turning the act of planting into a shared, joyful experience.
Attention was simultaneously focused on an area running alongside the school’s boundary fencing. Here, saplings for larger trees were planted. To protect these young, vulnerable trees from environmental stressors and accidental damage, each one was firmly secured with sturdy support sticks, further guaranteeing their successful establishment.
The morning’s hard work was made even more memorable by the “Navratna” team’s incredible efforts. This dedicated group organized a delicious mid-morning brunch, serving us Dumas na Bhajiya. This local delicacy provided a perfect, comforting end to the intense physical activity. The entire volunteering group supported the Navratna team’s efforts, turning the snack break itself into another act of community support.
No successful community event is complete without capturing the memories. Our photographers worked throughout the day, ensuring that every moment of preparation, planting, and camaraderie was documented, a visual testament to the day’s green achievement.
આજરોજ રવિવાર તા.1/3/2026 ના રોજ વહેલી સવારે ડુમસ સ્થિત પી.આર.કોન્ટ્રાકટર વિધાલય ખાતે Grow Native Green Forum દ્વારા 351 જેટલા સ્થાનિક વૃક્ષોનું વાવેતર કરવામાં આવ્યું.જેમાં શાળા ટ્રસ્ટી મંડળ ના સભ્યો વિદ્યાર્થી મિત્રો અને શિક્ષકોએ સહયોગ આપ્યો હતો.25 થી વધારે સ્થાનિક પ્રજાતિના વૃક્ષો વાવવા માટે 70 જેટલા Green સારથીઓ દ્વારા અથાગ પરિશ્રમ કરીને અભિયાન પાર પાડ્યું હતો.
ઝાડવે ઝાડવે જંગલ કરીએ ચાલને કઈ લીલું કરીએ.
ખૂબ જ ઉત્સાહભેર તમામ Green સારથી વહેલી સવારે હાજર રહીને કાર્યક્રમમાં સહયોગ આપવા બદલ સૌનો ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર…
