Growing Together: A GNGF Initiative for Environmental Sustainability at Samved Biomedical Waste Management

On March 29, 2026, we embarked on our third visit to Samved Biomedical Waste Management, Kabilpore, Navsari, an initiative dedicated to environmental sustainability. Our journey began on September 14, 2025, when we joyfully planted vibrant flowering plants around the factory unit, adding splashes of color to the industrial landscape. Fast forward to March 22, 2026, when we focused on the next phase of our mission by planting trees in one designated area of the premises. However, our commitment didn’t stop there; we returned a week later to complete the plantation in the remaining section of the site, that is, another 851 trees in an area of 650m2.

Given the soaring temperatures, we thoughtfully divided our work into two evening sessions, mirroring our previous visit’s strategy. We commenced our planting activities around 5 PM, aiming to make the most of the cooler evening air, and continued until 10:30 PM. To prepare for this important task, some dedicated members of the Green Saarthis team gathered that Saturday evening to finalize the marking and digging processes. To ensure the healthy growth of our new plants, we meticulously mixed cocopeat and vermicompost as organic fertilizers, carefully adding the right amount to each hole we had dug. This approach not only enhances the soil quality but also fosters a greener future.

On March 29, 2026, starting at 6 AM, we focused on completing the planting task. We carefully positioned the plants around their designated holes, ensuring that no two species were placed directly next to each other. In addition, we took into account specific requests regarding the placement of flowering plants and fruit or medicinal trees. After planting, we reinforced the saplings with sticks, adhering to our established pattern to ensure their stability. Our goal was to promote the survival and growth of the young plants, so we paid close attention to their arrangement and the surrounding environment. By approximately 11:30 AM on that Sunday, we had successfully finished the planting process. Overall, it was a productive morning, and we were pleased with how the arrangement turned out. We are looking forward to seeing the plants thrive in their new locations.

Some of our dedicated Green Saarthis took exceptional care of the flowering plants we had planted previously. They also replanted some of them in different places to suit the requirements. They pruned and nurtured them meticulously, promoting their healthy growth and sustainability. Their commitment to enhancing the plants’ condition reflects our team’s broader mission of fostering a thriving green environment. Their efforts not only ensure that the plants flourish but also demonstrate the importance of maintaining nature through responsible gardening practices. By systematically tending to these flowers, we can contribute to the beauty and biodiversity of our surroundings, paving the way for a greener future.

We wanted to express our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible followers on social media for their ongoing support and encouragement. As a token of our appreciation, we decided to plant some trees dedicated to them, symbolizing growth and sustainability, which we feel resonates with our community values. We captured the entire experience on video, showcasing the process and the beauty of nature. We plan to regularly engage in this initiative, ensuring that every follower knows how much they mean to us. Together, we can make a positive impact on our environment while strengthening our bond with our community. Thank you for being with us!
