Planting Wellness and Sustainability on World Yoga Day: 21 June 2026
On 21 June 2026, Green Saarthis gathered at 6:00 a.m. at Khengar Malabhai Bharvad Farm in Bhatha Gam, Surat, for a plantation drive that combined environmental action with personal well-being. The occasion was particularly meaningful as it coincided with World Yoga Day, allowing participants to celebrate both nature and health in a unique way.
The primary objective of the drive was to expand the region’s green cover through the plantation of 351 Neem saplings. Neem is widely valued for its ecological, medicinal, and environmental benefits, making it an ideal choice for creating a healthier and more sustainable landscape. As with all our plantation activities, careful attention was given to every stage of the process. Proper pits were prepared, organic manure was added to enrich the soil, and each sapling was planted following our standardized plantation methodology to maximize survival and healthy growth.
In addition to the plantation activity, the day featured a special observance of World Yoga Day. Several Green Saarthis performed 11 Surya Namaskars, embracing the spirit of physical fitness, mindfulness, and harmony with nature. Participants also learned a traditional clapping technique designed to stimulate pressure points in the hands, improve blood circulation, and promote overall well-being.
The event served as a reminder that environmental stewardship and personal wellness are deeply interconnected. By planting trees and practicing healthy habits, we took meaningful steps toward nurturing both the planet and ourselves. The morning concluded with a shared sense of accomplishment, reinforcing our commitment to building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
