On 19 July and 26 July 2026, Green Saarthis gathered at our nursery, Toran Vatika, for two dedicated maintenance sessions focused on preparing the next generation of native trees. While plantation drives often receive the most attention, the quiet work carried out in the nursery is equally essential to the success of every green initiative.

Inspired by the recently concluded mango season, many Green Saarthis collected mango seeds that would otherwise have gone to waste. These seeds were carefully sown in grow bags, allowing them to develop into healthy saplings for future plantation drives. The nursery also witnessed several other important activities. Bilipatra saplings were repotted into larger containers to encourage stronger root development, while overgrown grass was removed to ensure that young plants could access sufficient nutrients and moisture.

In keeping with our commitment to sustainability, grow bags containing seeds that had failed to germinate were emptied, cleaned, and reused for fresh plantations. Volunteers also potted Parijata saplings and propagated cuttings of several other plant species generously contributed by Green Saarthis.

These two mornings reflected the spirit of patience, resourcefulness, and teamwork that defines our mission. Every seed sown, every sapling repotted, and every grow bag reused is an investment in a greener future. By caring for our nursery today, we are laying the foundation for healthier plantations and stronger ecosystems in the years to come.
