7,500 Trees, One Powerful Vision: A Miyawaki Forest Takes Root at Ranat
On Sunday, 9 August 2026, Uttar Buniyadi Ashram School in Ranat witnessed a remarkable environmental milestone. This was our second visit to the site. On the significant occasion of World Adivasi Day, the campus became the site of an extraordinary plantation effort led by the Grow Native Green Forum (GNGF) and its dedicated Green Saarthis.
The day began before sunrise. Around 40 Green Saarthis set out from Surat at 5:30 a.m. and reached the Ashram School by 6:45 a.m. By 7:00 a.m., the plantation work was underway. What followed was more than six hours of determined effort. A rainy spell resulted in muddy ground, and eventually the humidity and heat made the conditions even more challenging. Yet, the volunteers continued undeterred, successfully planting 1,351 trees during the drive. This effort formed part of a much larger achievement: the creation of a 7,500-tree Miyawaki Forest on the school campus. In addition, 150 grafted mango saplings and other fruit-bearing trees were planted for the benefit of the students. The forest will eventually become a living classroom, providing shade, biodiversity, and an opportunity for children to experience nature firsthand.
One of the most heartening aspects of the day was the enthusiastic participation of the children. Many Green Saarthis also brought their own children—from nursery and school-going students to college students—to participate in the service. They joined the plantation activities with infectious excitement, demonstrating that environmental responsibility can begin at an early age. Their involvement is helping cultivate values of environmental stewardship in the next generation.
The success of the initiative was made possible through extensive collaboration. We express our sincere gratitude to the Rotary Club of Surat, particularly Kundanbhai Shah, Tejasbhai, and their team, for their pivotal support. We are equally thankful to Shri Manubhai of the Halpati Sevashram Sangh, Principal of the Ashram School, the teaching faculty, staff, and students for their wholehearted cooperation. Special appreciation goes to Maharshi and Hetalbhai, who spent six hours documenting the day’s work through photography and videography, ensuring that these memories and achievements are preserved. The thoughtful arrangements for refreshments and lunch by our partner organization and the Ashram School added warmth to an otherwise demanding day.
The plantation at Ranat was ultimately about much more than trees. It was about people coming together despite difficult conditions, children learning through action, and communities investing in a greener future. The newly created Miyawaki Forest stands as a powerful symbol of what collective determination can accomplish. To every Green Saarthi, student, teacher, supporter, photographer, sponsor, and nature lover—known and unknown—who contributed to this monumental effort, our heartfelt gratitude and congratulations. વિશ્વ આદિવાસી દિવસે ઉત્તર બુનિયાદી આશ્રમ શાળા, રાણત ખાતે 7500 વૃક્ષોના ‘મિયાવાકી ફોરેસ્ટ’નું નિર્માણ: ગ્રીન સારથીઓનો અથાક પરિશ્રમથી આ કઠિન કાર્ય સારી રીતે સંપન્ન થયું.
આજ રોજ, રવિવાર, 9 ઓગસ્ટ 2026ના રોજ ‘વિશ્વ આદિવાસી દિવસ’ જેવા પાવન અને અગત્યના દિવસે ઉત્તર બુનિયાદી આશ્રમ શાળા, રાણત મુકામે એક ભગીરથ પર્યાવરણીય કાર્ય સંપન્ન થયું.
કાર્યક્રમની મુખ્ય વિગતો:
વહેલી સવારની શરૂઆત: ‘ગ્રો નેટિવ ગ્રીન ફોરમ’ના આશરે 40 જેટલા ઉત્સાહી ગ્રીન સારથીઓ વહેલી સવારે 5:30 વાગે સુરતથી નીકળીને 6:45 વાગે આશ્રમ શાળા ખાતે પહોંચી ગયા હતા.
કઠિન પરિસ્થિતિઓમાં મહેનત: સવારે 7:00 વાગ્યાથી શરૂ થયેલું વૃક્ષારોપણનું કઠિન કામ બપોરે 1:15 વાગ્યા સુધી સળંગ ચાલ્યું હતું. વરસતા વરસાદ, કાદવ-કીચડ અને ત્યારબાદ થયેલા બફારા વચ્ચે પણ ગ્રીન સારથીઓએ અથાક પરિશ્રમ કરીને 1351 જેટલા વૃક્ષોનું રોપણ કર્યું.
મિયાવાકી ફોરેસ્ટનું નિર્માણ: આ સમગ્ર અભિયાન અંતર્ગત આશ્રમ શાળા ખાતે 7500 વૃક્ષોનું સમૃદ્ધ ‘મિયાવાકી ફોરેસ્ટ’ તૈયાર કરવામાં આવ્યું.તેમજ આશ્રમ શાળાના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે 150 આંબા તેમજ અન્ય ફળોની કલમનું વાવેતર કરવામાં આવ્યું.

6 કલાક ખડે પગે ઊભા રહીને ફોટોગ્રાફી અને વિડિઓ ગ્રાફી કરનાર મહર્ષિ અને હેતલભાઈનો ઢગલાબંધ આભાર.
નાના ભુલકાઓએ પણ મોજ મસ્તી સાથે વૃક્ષારોપણ કાર્યમાં આનંદ પૂર્ણ રીતે ભાગ લીધો.એ આવનારી પેઢી માટે અગત્યની શીખ આપે છે.
આ સંસ્થા સાથે જોડાયેલા Green સારથીઓ પોતાના બાળકો જે નર્સરી થી બાર ધોરણ અને કોલેજમાં અભ્યાસ કરે છે તેઓને સાથે લાવીને ભવિષ્યની પેઢી તૈયાર કરી રહ્યા છે એવા માં બાપને ખૂબ ખૂબ ધન્યવાદ.

શાળા પરિવારનો સાથ: આશ્રમ શાળાના આચાર્યશ્રી, હળપતિ સેવાશ્રમ સંઘના શ્રી મનુભાઈ, શાળાના શિક્ષકગણ, સમગ્ર સ્ટાફ અને વહાલા વિદ્યાર્થીઓનો અદ્ભુત સહયોગ પ્રાપ્ત થયો.
વરસાદી માહોલમાં કાદવ-કીચડ વચ્ચે પણ પ્રકૃતિ પ્રત્યેની નિષ્ઠા દાખવીને આ ભગીરથ કાર્ય પૂર્ણ કરનાર તમામ ગ્રીન સારથીઓ તેમજ નામી-અનામી પ્રકૃતિપ્રેમીઓ ખરેખર ધન્યવાદને પાત્ર છે. સૌનો ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર અને અભિનંદન! 🌿🌳
