Clearing the Way for Growth at Shree Nalanda Gurukul Vidyalaya

On 12 July 2026, Grow Native Green Forum conducted a plantation activity at Shree Nalanda Gurukul Vidyalaya, Sithan, Olpad, creating a vibrant green space with a large number of young saplings. As part of our commitment to their long-term care, we recently returned to check on their progress.

During our visit, we noticed that overgrown grass had covered the plantation area. If left unattended, the dense growth could compete with the young saplings for sunlight, water, nutrients, and space, potentially affecting their healthy development. It was clear that deweeding was urgently needed.

We had originally planned to carry out this maintenance activity on 13 September 2026, but heavy rainfall made it impossible to visit the site. Finally, on 20 September 2026, Green Saarthis, students and parents came together to take up the task.

Working with energy and teamwork, the volunteers spent approximately 3 to 4 hours clearing the unwanted grass and opening up the plantation area around the young trees.

This visit was another reminder that plantation is only the beginning. Regular maintenance and timely care are essential for helping saplings survive, grow, and eventually become a thriving green ecosystem.

Every act of aftercare brings us one step closer to a greener future. 🌱🌳
