Nurturing Saplings, Inspiring Children at Toran Vatika Nursery
Our effort to sustain saplings at Toran Vatika Nursery on 15 March 2026 brought back memories of another day that we had spent here… Around three months ago, on 14 December 2025, Sunday, we gathered at Toran Vatika to devote time to maintaining our nursery. That day, we began with the Agnihotra Yagna and then spent three hours meticulously removing invasive grass and de-weeding the beds. Furthermore, we engaged in repotting our saplings into larger containers to give their roots ample space to grow and strengthen. This focused effort is crucial to ensuring that every sapling is in optimal health and robust condition when we finally take them on our upcoming plantation drives, maximizing their chances of survival and thriving in the new environment.
Beyond our maintenance work, the day provided a unique opportunity for community outreach and education. We were delighted to host home-schooled children who visited our nursery with a keen interest in nature. These interactions transformed the routine work into a spontaneous teaching moment, allowing us to share our passion for environmental stewardship and provide an invaluable, hands-on learning experience about native trees and plants, inspiring the next generation of green enthusiasts.
