Growing Together: Our Final Plantation Drive at Singhania Farms
5 April 2026 marked the third and final phase of our plantation drive at Singhania Farms, a project we initiated to contribute positively to the environment. The first phase took place on 22 February 2026, where we successfully planted 501 trees, marking a significant start. The second phase followed on 8 March 2026, during which we planted an additional 51 trees, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability. For this concluding phase, we aimed to plant another 501 trees, bringing our total to over a thousand. This initiative highlights our dedication to restoring green cover and promoting biodiversity in our community.
With rising temperatures, similar to the last two plantation weeks, we set aside Saturday evening for some preliminary work. Our activities included digging, sorting saplings, and strategically placing them next to their designated holes to ensure we could complete the planting process efficiently the following morning. It’s important to acknowledge the effort of the seven Green Saarthis who joined us on Saturday, especially considering the weather conditions weren’t very inviting!
We took the opportunity to assess our previous planting areas. During this survey, we identified some gaps where the density needed improvement for a Miyawaki forest-style growth. To address this, we dug additional holes in those areas, preparing to plant more saplings. This proactive approach aims to enhance our efforts in restoring the environment and promoting biodiversity.
The teamwork demonstrated by the volunteers was commendable, as they braved the less-than-ideal weather to contribute to a greener future. Saturday’s groundwork was crucial for ensuring a smooth and timely plantation on Sunday morning, where we aspire to create a thriving ecosystem. As we look forward to completing the project, our focus remains on cultivating a lush, vibrant area that can sustain various forms of wildlife and serve as a model for future initiatives. Every sapling planted not only contributes to our local environment but also represents a collective commitment to sustainability and ecological responsibility.
On Sunday at 6 AM, fifty dedicated Green Saarthis came together for a community planting initiative. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as everyone gathered to continue the work that had already been started. The group began by diligently completing the marking process for the planting sites, ensuring that each sapling would have sufficient space to grow and thrive. After marking the spots, they dug holes, readying the earth for the new plants. Next, organic fertilizers were added to enrich the soil, providing essential nutrients to support the saplings in their early stages. After this preparation, the team enthusiastically planted a variety of saplings, taking care to position them carefully in their new homes. The sense of accomplishment was palpable as they completed the plantation, knowing they had contributed to a greener future for their community.
We had the joy of celebrating the birthdays of our three young Green Saarthis: Prisha, Paridhi, and Elina. This occasion was not only a celebration of their special day but also an opportunity to highlight our commitment to environmental stewardship. The children’s parents / grandparents made donations to support our plantation drives. Their contributions reflect a shared vision of nurturing the planet and fostering a sense of responsibility among the younger generation.
A special thank you to the Singhania family, who graciously opened their premises for the plantation drive. Their warm hospitality created a welcoming atmosphere that truly enhanced our experience. Together, we spent a wonderful day planting trees and learning about the importance of environmental conservation. By coming together for this initiative, we not only celebrated the birthdays of our young Saarthis but also took a significant step towards creating a greener future. We are deeply grateful to everyone involved, and we look forward to continuing this journey together with our community.
4 April 2026, શનિવારે બપોર પછી ધગધગતા તાપમાં વૃક્ષારોપણની પૂર્વ તૈયારી માટે નીકળવાનો વિચાર કરવાનું પણ ઘણું મુશ્કેલ હતું.
અત્યંત ગરમીના કારણે માથું ભારે હતું.પણ,સાથી Green સારથી મિત્રોને કમિટમેન્ટ આપેલું એટલે જવાનું હતું.
એમાં પણ,જીગીત્સાબેન પહેલીવાર આ સેવા કાર્યમાં જોડાવાના હતાં. એમનો પ્રથમ પ્રયાસ હતો એટલે મને પણ હિંમત આવી.અને નક્કી થયા મુજબ સાંજે 4:30 વાગ્યાને બદલે પોણા પાંચ વાગ્યે જ્યોત્સનાબેન, જીગીત્સાબેન,નિમિષાબેન અને માનસીબેન સાથે અમે પાંચ સિંઘાનિયા ફાર્મ પર જવા કારમાં બેસી રવાના થયા.ગરમી કહે મારું કામ
પણ સાથીઓના હોંસલા સાથે જરૂરી સાધનો લેવા માટે તોરણ વાટિકા નર્સરીના મુખ્ય દરવાજા આગળ કાર થોભાવી.તડકો કહે મારું કામ.ગરમીના કારણે નર્સરીનો લોખંડ નો દરવાજો જામ થઈ ગયો હતો..દસ બાર પાટુ જોર જોર થી માર્યા પછી ખુલ્યો.તગારા,ખાતર અને મશીન જ્યોત્સનાબેન સાથે ઉપાડીને ગાડીમાં મૂક્યા.ગાડી ઉપાડી થોડીવાર થઈ એટલે મોન્ટુભાઈ નો કોલ આવ્યો..
એ already ત્યાં પહોંચી ગયા હતા અને સાથે નરેશભાઈ પવાર પણ હતાં.
અમે કુલ સાત જણ હતા અને કામ શરૂ કર્યું…જીગીત્સાબેને લાઇન દોરી કરી….મોન્ટુભાઈ એ જૂના પ્લાન્ટેશનમાં 20 જેટલા ખાડા કર્યા એટલીવારમાં માનસીબેન,નિમિષાબેન અને જ્યોત્સનાબેન દ્વારા plantation કર્યું અને પછી મોન્ટુભાઈ અને નરેશભાઈ પવાર દ્વારા ખાડા કરીને મહિલા મંડળે ખાતર મિક્ષ કરીને બધા ખાડામાં ખાતર નાંખ્યું..પછી આયોજન અનુસાર જે તે ખાડા પાસે છોડની ગોઠવણી કરીને પોણા નવ વાગ્યે કામ કર્યાના આનંદ અને સંતોષ સાથે ઘરે પહોંચ્યા.
આજે જ આવેલા જીગીત્સાબેનને થાક લાગ્યો હતોં પણ કામ કર્યાનો ખૂબ સંતોષ હતો..બીજે દિવસે સવારે વહેલી સવારે છ વાગ્યે આવવાના કોલ સાથે બધા છૂટા પડ્યા..
રવિવારની સવારે સૂર્યોદય સાથે વહેલી સવારે આપેલા સમય મુજબ 50 જેટલા Green સારથીઓ હાજર થઈ ગયા હતા.સૌને ઝાડ રોપવાનો ખૂબ ઉત્સાહ હતો.બાકી રહેલા ખાડા માર્કિંગ કર્યા બાદ પરેશભાઈ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવ્યા..સાથે ત્રણ દીકરીઓ અનુક્રમે પ્રિશા,
પરિધિ અને એલી ના જન્મદિનની ઉત્સાહભેર ઉજવણી કરવામાં આવી અને એમના વાલીઓએ સંસ્થાને વૃક્ષારોપણ અર્થે યથાશક્તિ ફાળો આપ્યો…જોત જોતામાં ખાડા થઈ ગયા અને વૃક્ષારોપણ થઈ ગયું….ત્યારબાદ ગરબા રમીને સૌ મહેમાન તેમજ Green સારથીઓએ ભરપેટ નાસ્તો કરી…યજમાન સિંઘાનિયા પરિવારનો મનોમન આભાર માની સૌ છૂટા પડ્યા.આ કાર્યક્રમમાં જોડાયેલ તમામ પ્રકૃતિપ્રેમીજનોનો ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર અને ધન્યવાદ🙏🌳🙏
